Learn why Antoinette walks at Epilepsy Walk LA on April 28!

”I walk because of my journey with Myoclonic Epilepsy. It’s about supporting the Epilepsy Foundation of Los Angeles and spreading the message of choosing optimism. Through my platform @OptimisticInstead, I’ve learned firsthand the importance of staying positive despite the hardships. My walk is for everyone like me, taking it day by day, staying strong, and staying positive. I also want to show people that despite Epilepsy, you can still accomplish your biggest goals—I ran my first marathon this year!”

Learn why Kat walks at Epilepsy Walk LA on April 28!

"I’m Kat, I’m a behavioral neuroscientist by training, and a current USC PhD student here in LA. I also have refractory temporal lobe epilepsy. I walk for myself and others like me who can understand what it’s like to live with an unpredictable neurological disease like epilepsy. I’m proud to be a research scientist and I’m grateful for all the physicians and scientists that are working endlessly to help better understand the mechanisms behind epilepsy etiologies and treatment options for people like us. Together, we can end epilepsy."

Learn why Team Olivia Jordan walk at Epilepsy Walk LA on April 28 at the Rose Bowl.

"We walk in memory of our beautiful daughter, Olivia, who fought a very courageous battle with epilepsy for 17 years. With her courage and strength as an example, we will continue her fight so no other family has to experience such loss. We walk so strides in research are made, people become educated in seizure response, and so families are supported with resources in their epilepsy battles. We love and miss you so much, “O”, and we know you will be walking with us like you did so many years before, and you will be guiding us all with that beautiful smile on your face."

Learn why Team Sepulveda returns to Epilepsy Walk LA on April 28 💜

"EPILEPSY....

It is a chronic noncommunicable disease of the brain that affects people of all ages. Hard to believe but around 50 million people worldwide have epilepsy, making it one of the most common neurological diseases globally.

My son Jesus is the 3rd generation to be diagnosed with a form of epilepsy. He was diagnosed 27 years ago and has been living with epilepsy with they are controlled by medication. While we feel truly blessed everyday many families are not as fortunate.

My passion is to learn all I can about this disease and do my part to raise awareness and never give up in the fight to end epilepsy.

Together with our Friends, Family, Colleges and Donors we can continue the fight to End Epilepsy!!! "
