We hosted our annual Care+Cure Benefit on Tuesday night at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event raises money to train pediatric epilepsy specialists in Los Angeles.
This year’s Care+Cure honored Patrick Whitesell, Co-CEO of William Morris Endeavors, and brought together some of the most influential people in Hollywood and LA to raise funds and awareness for childhood epilepsy. Care+Cure has already funded 20 Fellows at UCLA, LAC+USC, Children’s Hospital LA and UCSF. Care+Cure has funded research, Dietary Therapy Programs, epilepsy family events, and statewide advocacy for children with epilepsy.
Despite the success of the event, each speaker, including EFGLA Board Vice President and Care+Cure Co-Chair Mark Borman, spoke about the need for more to be done. Borman implored attendees to keep pushing for more so that the children of Los Angeles, including his own son, can have the specialty care in the fight to End Epilepsy.
The event also featured families and children in the fight to End Epilepsy in a video tribute — this year’s video can be seen here.
